University of Puget Sound
Meeting with Cyrus Shafiei

I am immensely passionate about music and keen to pursue graduation in a related field. As an attempt to explore higher studies, I came across the University of Puget Sound. I was able to join a 1 on 1 campus tour online on 14th June 2021. This meeting consisted of mainly a campus tour conducted by a final year student majoring in the business leadership program, Cyrus Shafiei.

The campus tour gave a basic overview of different parts of the university. Through this tour of the different buildings on the huge campus, several aspects of college life were explained. For instance, Cyrus explained the available food plans in the university alongside showing the pictures of the cafeteria and the eating areas. Moreover, he also explained that it is compulsory to live on campus for the first two years. While you are allowed to shift to an apartment, flat or a simple house in the second year, for the first year, students must live in the dorms. Roommates are selected for you based on your sleep time, studying time etc. after you fill in a form. Choosing your roommate not using the form is also an option if you already know someone. Furthermore, Cyrus showed pictures of the gym and swimming pool open in the university. I was especially excited about those. Another part of the university I looked forward to exploring in the meeting, was the library.

Apart from all these insightful facts about the campus and life as a student, I asked a few questions regarding online meetups. I got to know that there are several options for online chat groups which include Facebook, and new sites Puget Sound is collaborating with, such as Wisr. On these sites, you can contact a professor. Overall, the meeting was really helpful, and it was the most informative regarding life on campus, in general out of all the meetings for colleges I have joined.
